It may not be freezing temperatures this week, but this one is an easy way to put chili on your menu. The prep is minimal and makes plenty for leftovers.
Ingredients:
1T Avocado Oil
2 Yellow Onions, Diced
1 Pound Lean Ground Beef, 96/4
1.5 Pounds Lean Ground Turkey, 99/1
5T Chili Powder
4T Ground Cumin
4T Tomato Paste
2T Garlic Powder
3 tsp Salt
1 tsp Black Pepper
3 Cups Broth
30 oz Diced Tomatoes
16 oz Canned Tomato Sauce
1 Can Red Beans or Corn, Optional
Shredded Cheese, Sour Cream &/Or Green Onions to Garnish, Optional
Let’s Get Cooking:
Heat oil on medium-high in large pot or extra large skillet. Add onion. Cook 5-7 minutes.
Add ground meat and brown.
Add Chili powder + Cumin + Tomato Paste + Garlic Powder + Salt + Pepper. Stir well.
Add Broth + Diced Tomatoes + Sauce + Beans &/or Corn. Stir well.
Bring the pot to a low boil.
Reduce heat to low and simmer (uncovered) for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Top with Cheese, Green onion, or Sour Cream. Enjoy!
