Chili's on the Menu Tonight

It may not be freezing temperatures this week, but this one is an easy way to put chili on your menu. The prep is minimal and makes plenty for leftovers.


Ingredients:

  • 1T Avocado Oil

  • 2 Yellow Onions, Diced

  • 1 Pound Lean Ground Beef, 96/4

  • 1.5 Pounds Lean Ground Turkey, 99/1

  • 5T Chili Powder

  • 4T Ground Cumin

  • 4T Tomato Paste

  • 2T Garlic Powder

  • 3 tsp Salt

  • 1 tsp Black Pepper

  • 3 Cups Broth

  • 30 oz Diced Tomatoes

  • 16 oz Canned Tomato Sauce

  • 1 Can Red Beans or Corn, Optional

  • Shredded Cheese, Sour Cream &/Or Green Onions to Garnish, Optional



Let’s Get Cooking:

  1. Heat oil on medium-high in large pot or extra large skillet. Add onion. Cook 5-7 minutes.

  2. Add ground meat and brown.

  3. Add Chili powder + Cumin + Tomato Paste + Garlic Powder + Salt + Pepper. Stir well.

  4. Add Broth + Diced Tomatoes + Sauce + Beans &/or Corn. Stir well.

  5. Bring the pot to a low boil. 

  6. Reduce heat to low and simmer (uncovered) for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  7. Top with Cheese, Green onion, or Sour Cream. Enjoy!
